Acura RDX VS Lexus NX Comparison Review

The NX 350 is a good choice within the compact luxury SUV segment. It offers 3 separate powertrains . The NX 350 features a 275 horsepower, 4-cylinder turbo engine with a 8-speed automatic transmission. The Lexus NX exterior design looks like a modern Lexus SUV. That being said, for a compact SUV it is lacking in cargo space and overall passenger space. It offers 12 less cubic feet of cargo space and 3 inches less legroom than the RDX

Acura's new RDX luxury crossover offers great styling, a quality engine and plenty of cargo space for its class. This sporty-looking SUV has sharp handling and great acceleration thanks to a 272 horsepower turbocharged engine powered by a smooth, 10-speed automatic transmission. This special automatic transmission can actually skip 4 speeds at a time to quickly bring you more torque and power for easy merging and passing. Several driver modes allow for more relaxed or sportier driving options, while advanced safety features, like lane change assist, come standard on every RDX. You can also take the RDX to the next level with Acura's super-handling all-wheel drive system, which shifts power to different wheels as you carve up the road. The RDX is an exhilarating, fun luxury crossover that offers much more value than other luxury vehicles, like the NX 350.

We love the comfort and luxury of Lexus vehicles, but the Acura RDX has everything the NX has with quite a bit more space. You can also lease a new Acura RDX for an incredible price. Acura RDX vs Lexus NX FAQ

+

We believe the RDX is a better overall value than the NX. While both SUVs offer similar standard features and performance, the RDX has more cargo and passenger space. If you plan on having passengers in the rear consistently, we would highly recommend buying an RDX instead.

+

The RDX is slightly larger than the NX. The RDX measures 187.4 x 74.8 x 65.7 inches vs. the NX with 183.5 x 73.4 x 65.4 inches. This leads to more cargo and passenger space for the RDX.

+

The RDX has slightly less horsepower, although the difference is negligible. The RDX uses a 272-hp turbocharged engine, and the NX has a 275-hp engine. It is unlikely that horsepower output will affect your decision when comparing these two subcompact luxury SUVs.

+

The RDX offers up to about 58.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats down, compared with about 46.9 cubic feet in the NX, making it one of the roomier options in the subcompact luxury SUV market.

+

While you can't go wrong with either subcompact SUV, we believe that the overall value with the RDX is much better. With plenty of aspects being equal, having more comfort for your passengers and room for your things is a pretty major difference. We know you won't be disappointed in buying a new Acura RDX.
