The key difference between the Audi Q5 and Acura RDX is price. The Q5 has a base price that is around 7,000 more than the RDX. What do you get for that price increase? The Q5 does have some additional standard tech and features, but if you compare both models at the same price point, you get more in the RDX. Beyond that, the RDX offers more cargo space and a sportier driving experience. The Q5 is a quality vehicle, but the RDX offers more bang for your buck.
We believe that the RDX is much better for the money. For roughly the same price as the base-level Audi Q5, you will get the third-highest RDX trim level. That means getting heated and ventilated seats, 16-way power seats, and an ELS Studio 3D®* 16-speaker premium audio system for the same price.
The RDX does have more horsepower than the standard Q5. The RDX with 272 horsepower has slightly more than the 268 horsepower of the Q5.
The RDX offers slightly more cargo space than the Q5. The RDX has 29.5 cubic feet with the seats up and 58.9 with the seats down. The Q5 has 27.6 cubic feet with the seats up and 56.9 with the seats down. Not a huge difference, but still more for the RDX.
