Performance
The ZDX shares its platform, wheelbase, standard all-wheel drive and overall width with the MDX. And though the MDX is designed to seat seven, the intent behind the ZDX is to provide "a means of freedom and escape for two adults and their cargo." The 2012 ZDX features Acura's largest engine, which offers a remarkable combination of power, efficiency and refinement. The 3.7L VTEC V6 engine pumps out an astounding 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque while still delivering an EPA-estimated 16 city/23 hwy MPG [1]. Plus, with a 21-gallon fuel capacity, it's possible to go 400 miles between fill-ups. A Sequential SportShift Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters give the driver the best of both worlds by delivering the convenience of precise and intuitive automatic shifting with the ability to control it manually, if you so choose. The ZDX also comes equipped with Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system that enhances high-performance dry-road handling in addition to all-weather driving. With the second row seats folded down, drivers get an unparalleled 57.3 cu ft. for all of your golf clubs, skis, luggage and furniture. |

Standards and Options
A bevy of features come standard with the ZDX, from a rearview camera to help you avoid what you can't see to a power tailgate that makes it easier to load and unload when your hands are full. The ZDX key remote was given a few extra convenience features beyond the usual door lock, trunk release and panic button functions. It can not only open the sunroof and lower the windows, but can also store driver's seat positions, radio presets and climate preferences in its memory.
A 266-watt, 7-speaker audio system with 8" subwoofer delivers clear and dynamic sound throughout the cabin. Music sources are nearly endless with the combination of AM/FM, 6-Disc CD Changer, XM Radio and auxiliary input. An upgraded Acura/ELS (designed by Grammy® award-winning recording engineer and producer Elliot Scheiner) 10-speaker Surround Sound System with 15GB hard disk is also available. Moreover, almost all functions can be performed by Voice Recognition with this system, making it even easier to find exactly what you want. A USB audio interface for iPods and Bluetooth Hands-Free Technology comes standard on all models. The Acura Navigation System-the centerpiece of the ZDX Technology Package-is Acura's most advanced navigation system. Using a hard drive and viewed through a full VGA 8" screen, the system is fast, easy to read and incredibly convenient. Not only can it deliver directions, but can also retrieve real time traffic and weather updates, as well as Zagat restaurant reviews. Optional features include Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Information System. |

Safety
The 2012 Acura ZDX comes standard with Xenon HID Headlights to illuminate the road better, and subsequently any potential dangers sooner. The ZDX is also equipped with a sophisticated six-airbag system consisting of two front and two front-side airbags, as well as two side curtain airbags that provide coverage for the front and outboard rear seats. Advanced sensors and inflator systems are designed so that the airbags can deploy at the right time with the appropriate force. Moreover, the Occupant Position Detection System uses sensors in the front passenger seatback to determine the height and position of the passenger and will deactivate the side airbag if a child or small-statured adult leans into the side airbag deployment path. Additional safety standard features include a security system, child seat LATCH anchors and Active Front Head Restraints. An optional Collision Mitigation Braking System utilizes a radar transmitter and alerts the driver with audible and visual alerts if a collision is possible. |
